GIN ANNIE - 100% PROOF
Review by Diane :D
With a win at the recent Hard Rock Hell, Highway To Hell Finals in Sheffield , Gin Annie were awarded a 2 album deal with 'Off Yer Rocka Records' . Not wasting any time '100% PROOF' is due for release on January 25th. In fact the snowball hasn’t stopped rolling over the last year for these West Midlands rockers. They are gathering momentum every step of the way, a succession of gigs has seen their fan base increase so much, that every other punter proudly wears a GA T-shirt . Rightly so as the Gin Annie boys who are, Dave Foster on Vocals , Byron Garbett and Brian Green on guitars , Drummer Jack Ryland-Smith and Phill ‘Hammer' Burrows on Bass , are fuelled up and storming it.
First on offer is 'Love Ain’t Here', pacy with smooth as silk harmonies , Mr Foster introduces you to this album with a melting sing along. 'New Bad Habit' continues the theme, steadily driving you on with clean vocals and powerful guitar riffs. The energy and excitement these guys demonstrate playing live is unbelievable and it can be felt on this debut LP.
The recent single ‘Chains' is more reflective, even deep, but it punches out of the bag with soul and is testament that these guys writing some incredible songs. ‘Fallin', the previous single will stay in your head forever, it fires up and hits you with the trademark guitar licks and the thunderous drumming of JRS, along with the catchy lyrics that are Gin Annie .
It all slows down with 'Haunt Me' a power ballad, that also allows the guitarists to show their worth, captured by producer Jay Shredder.
We finish with 'Born to Rock n Roll' familiar with those who have seen the band live and sums it up perfectly, yes Gin Annie were born for this and that snowball is going to gather you up in its path. If you haven’t witnessed them on stage yet, I suggest you do because you are missing a treat . Meanwhile check them out at; www.ginannie.com or the Facebook page Gin Annie UK .
