The Countess Von Gene and myself had heard of a new thing called ' Daisyland'' so we went to see what it was.

The weather was indeed ' scorchio' but many had arrived early to get into Daisyland.   The first 50 to arrive got to experience something very special.  Around 90 minutes before show time us lucky ones where let into the theatre to have a very up close and personal acoustic show.  It was like having a private gig in your own house.

Highlights had to be Deen Castronovo singing 'Maggie May' and Marco Mendoza great rendition of  'Lock N Load'.

After their short set the band spent just over an hour signing and chatting to all.   It was more like a family than a meet n greet!  By show time the 500 capacity was packed like a tin of sardines.

Out went the house lights and the blonde colossus that is Doug Aldrich stood centre stage.

As the first riffs of 'Resurrected' boomed from his guitar I'm sure the dead where awoken!  The Dead Daisies just get better each time I see them.  The brainchild of David Lowy way back in 2013, this band are on a road to stardom.  They play great rock n roll the way it's meant to be played - LOUD. VERY LOUD!

Each track is a classic of tomorrow and the set speeds along with tracks like 'Mexico', 'Make Some Noise' and their great cover of Creedence Clearwater Revivals  'Fortunate Son'. They do give the crowd a short breather with a short acoustic set with a Beatles cover of ' Let It Be' making Madrid feel like the Cavern back in Liverpool all those years ago.  A band introduction accompanied by a rock classic for each member shows the roots of these guys.  AC/DC, Deep Purple , Sabbath and Thin Lizzy are all credited but when Deen beats out the classic 'I Wanna Rock 'N' Roll All Night' the remaining Kiss Army  still in town from last night show blew the roof off the place!  Set closer 'Midnight Moses' sends the crowd to fever pitch closing the 21 song  set.  They return to deliver 2 more tunes, the sound of Highway Star ringing in our years as we walk into the Spanish night.

Daisyland? It's Disneyland for Rock 'n' Roll adults.  MEGA.
