Well if doing a review can ever make me feel old, it’s this one!!

I cut my rock teeth on Saxon and they will always have a special place for me, the music just works and even after over 35 years, it still sounds great!

Way back in 1977 Saxon formed in Yorkshire and produced some of the finest rock anthems of the Eighties. They have re-issued 3 of their massive albums, and thrown in some absolute master strokes as well.

1981 Denim & Leather, 18 tracks including some live gems from Hammersmith Odeon

and Castle Donington.

1983 Power and The Glory 18 tracks.

1984 Crusader 19 tracks.

Both these albums now include some early demos from Kaley Studios.

Just so many good songs on offer here, it’s impossible to put anything negative,

Play It Loud

20,000ft

And the Band Played on

Living for the Weekend

Turn Out the Lights

Denim & Leather

Midas Touch

I’m not even scratching the surface here, it’s just a very good collection of very good music.

I won’t continue to rattle on singing the praises of Biff and the boys, try it for yourself.

If you like old school rock/metal then this is for you, if you have never heard Saxon before, hang your head in shame, then go and treat yourself to these re issued albums and make amends for missing out on a piece of rock history!!!

Rating: 11 out of 10 ( the bonus stuff on these is gold)
